Hello,

We are currently working on adding WhatsApp as one of our channels, we already have a regular business account, but we want to upgrade it to a Business API account, and we finished setting up our Meta business account, yet we are stuck on the Webhooks, is it true that we cannot create a WhatsApp API Business account internally and integrate it with Zendesk without a third-party?

Hello Sama,

In response to your enquiry => you'll always need to use Business Solution Providers (BSP) i.e Zendesk to be able to register your requested telephone numbers with the WhatsApp Business API platform.

With Zendesk/ using Zendesk (as a BSP) you can register your telephone numbers with the WhatsApp Business API platform without the need of any third party.

All the information related to adding a telephone number as a WhatsApp Messaging Channel to Zendesk Subdomain (which basically means registering the telephone number with the WhatsApp Business API Platform) can be found here:
https://support.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/4408842821786-Adding-WhatsApp-social-messaging-channels

By successfully completing the procedure described in the article mentioned above, you will create WABA (WhatsApp Business Account) within your FBM and will only share this WABA with Zendesk (its so-called co-shared model where WABA is owned, managed, and hosted by the customer and only shared with a BSP so that the number can be registered with WhatsApp Business API Platform).

Hope it helps!
