How to search leads/contacts using phone numbers?

Our clients use different formats in phone field and our platform should search leads using a standard format phone number.
eg
client might have entered

123.123.1234

But our platform will get number without any formating like below

1231231234

How should our platform search using this to get the lead/contact?

      Hey Bharat, 

      Just for confirmation, when you're referring to your platform. Are you talking about your Zendesk Sell instance or a different system that you're using to call Sell via API?

      A different system that is using APIs to search CRM data on Sell.

      We help our clients to integrate with Zendesk and relate our data with data in CRM.

      We advise users to not use parentheses, hyphens, spaces or periods in phone numbers. Due to that your query would be the most accurate by following this same E164 format.
