Changing one field value from a series of field values into a drop down.

Hi All,

I am hoping someone can assist.

I have a list of multiple field values that customers choose from when they select a reason for getting in touch and I would like to make one of these fields present further multiple choice options if it is selected.

I was under the impression that there was some symbol or piece of text I could enter into the field value to make it into a drop down list.

Hi Jack, I think you're looking for the double colon ::

Like this:

  • Computer::Windows
  • Computer::Mac

But I haven't used that on the customer side. I would test that out! Also, if you're looking for good reporting, sometimes the multi-layered fields are harder to get good data from because you have to include all the 2nd layers to get a full view of their related 1st layer -hopefully that makes sense.

So I would suggest possibly using conditional fields on the customer facing form where if field 1 is set to value X, then surface field 2.

Hope this helpls!

Thank you Heather.

Do you happen to know how I can add further choices?

I would ideally like a customer to be able to click on for example 'Cancel Order' and then be presented with 5 choices, but I only seem to be able to add one after the ::

Hi Jack,

Each of the 5 choices would be its own entry in the field when you're setting it up. You'll l likely need to refresh your browser(s) to see the change on Guide.

  • Cancel Order::Haven't received my order
  • Cancel Order::Duplicate order
  • Cancel Order::Changed my mind

If you're still having an issue, post some screenshots if you don't mind so we can see what's going on?

Sincerely,

Heather
