I'm reaching out for help with a challenge I'm facing in accessing a .dmg file attachment from my support interaction. Despite successfully downloading other types of files, such as PNG images, from the same ticket, I'm unable to download a critical .dmg file intended for Slack support.
The issue arose when I attempted to download a DMG file attachment I had sent to Slack (who uses Zendesk); the download simply doesn't start, leaving me without a way to access, taking me instead to a Zendesk login screen. This problem seems specific to .dmg files, as I've not encountered similar issues with other file types within the same support request.
I've already tried several troubleshooting steps, including clearing my browser cache, trying different browsers, and checking for any browser-specific restrictions that might block the download. Unfortunately, these efforts haven't resolved the issue. I have also reached out to Slackers who just referred me to Zendesk.
Before posting, I reviewed similar challenges in the community forums and tried suggested solutions, such as accessing the file from different devices and networks, but to no avail.
I'm seeking any advice, guidance, or steps I might have missed that could help me successfully download this .dmg file. If there's a known issue or workaround that applies to .dmg files in Zendesk attachments, I'd greatly appreciate learning more about it.
Thank you in advance for your support and suggestions.
Thank you for sharing this issue here, I went ahead and moved this to our Q&A since there could be folks who can support this issue. Zendesk supports all file tpyes so I am not sure what's going on here. If you are still running into the issue after further community support, I would open up a support ticket to help resolve the problem. Thanks so much!
