Thanks so much for the new helpful resources. It would be fantastic if a recorded Salesforce / ZD integration demo could be added to the partner portal. Configuring this type of integration is tricky to start with so if we're able to show a short demo video to a customer that would be awesome.

Appreciate the feedback as always @amie11.  I will check with the product team and post a response back here. I see both admin and agent demo's or walkthroughs on our Help Center page, although these are somewhat dated depending on how much has changed since they were posted.

HI Amie, Did you have a chance to go through the below community article -  it goes deep into each step required to build the integration along with screenshots and limitations . Changes on Zendesk side are not major and can be done quickly.  Do you have access to any test SFDC instance to test it ?

https://support.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/community/posts/6592728468762-Zendesk-Salesforce-Integration-Zendesk-Integrations-Series-Part-1  ?

We understnd the importance of this integration and hence ,  we have more enhancements coming on the SFDC Zendesk integration later this year.  We will be making updates to the experience of the Sidebar app in Support, and also the Ticket view in Salesforce

You should be able to customize the data shown to agents in the Zendesk Sidebar App and Salesforce Ticket View, and receive improved data sync notifications.

This will allow agents in Zendesk to see more Salesforce data in Support, and sales reps in Salesforce to see more data from Zendesk. For data sync notifications, these will notify admins if something goes wrong with the data sync, so they are aware something is broken and can have clear steps to fix it.

Hey friends,

Thanks for the updates.

@shaun16 - Most welcome and many thanks, will check those out.

@anurag11 - Thanks for the cool guide, will def have a sit down and try and get something up and running.  I also love that you have a little section in there “Key Limitations Being Worked Upon by Our Engineers in 2024” - love this type of transparency to partners, as it allows us to say “it's coming, hang tight” to potential SF integration users on ZD. :)

No we don't have a test salesforce environment + sometimes we're also a little time poor in being able to setup these types of integrations which require a bit more input then a simple app install and a login required inside the app for it to work. This is why a pre-recorded demo can become handy to be able to show the customer.

Hi Amie, I completely agree that recording a demo would be a great idea. Unfortunately, I've lost access to my SFDC test account and can't use it for the recording.

The good news is that the SFDC integration app itself has been performing well based on my experience with a few projects.

On the Zendesk side, setup is very straightforward – it mainly involves creating new fields and enabling a few options in our app settings page.

The biggest hurdle lies with the customer's SFDC configuration, which is managed by their own admin team. Since every customer has a unique SFDC environment, delays and inconsistencies can occur during setup.

However, we can still be proactive by providing customers with a clear understanding of potential setup issues within SFDC, so we're prepared to assist them.

The other main effort involves thorough testing to ensure seamless data synchronization between both platforms whenever changes occur.

As these changes are coming to the app, the demo video will be updated as per the product team. I don't believe we have any available as an interim one unfortunately Amie, however, all other videos of the admin side of things are relevant I've been informed.

Cool no stress. We managed to get a demo video of the SF integration that was floating around for the time being. Really appreciate everyones collaborative input on this one. Thanks so much. :)
