Resolved - February 29th: Organization Merge Beta currently disabled

Hello Org Merge community,

I wanted to provide you with a quick status update on the current deactivation of Org Merge Beta as it's been a week since it was turned off.

The software defect that caused us to turn off org merge is being worked on by our Ticket Platform team. The nature of updating closed tickets is complicated - one of the reasons it's not been historically supported - so we're proceeding with caution there.

The team that builds org merge are investigating how to isolate Org Merge from future software defects like this, and hopefully we'll have something on that front soon. We're also working on our public API.

I expect that it'll be at least another week before we're re-activating org merge.

My apologies for the inconvenience this has caused, I'll hopefully have good news soon.

Hi Zendesk Team! Is there any ETA on this being resolved? While I understand this function is still in beta, it has become a part of my weekly processes to clean up our system.

I'm terribly sorry about the disruption. I hope next week we'll have the beta back up and running, but I say that disclaiming that it could be the week after pending how the re-testing of the defect goes.

Regardless of progress, I promise to post an update to this thread next week and keep you informed.

Beside that, I'm glad to hear that Org Merge has become core to your weekly processes - it's exactly why we built it and how we hope it helps.

It's been a week since my last post, so I wanted to provide another update on our deactivation of Org Merge Beta.

I'm pleased to say the tickets team have a resolution to the software defect currently in rollout. The incident has not yet been given the all clear and still not closed, but I'm hopeful that we'll have that in the next couple of days and we'll see the reactivation of the Org Merge Beta shortly thereafter. 

I have reason to believe we'll be reactivated once again this week, or early next week.

I'm pleased to share that our software defect is resolved and Organization Merge has been reactivated in all accounts.

Thank you so much for being patient with us during this temporary shut off, we've put in place some protections to hopefully avoid this happening again.
