Random Audio Notifications

Hey everyone, 

The admins on our instance of Zendesk have been noticing some seemingly random audio 'pings' that we can't track down the source of. They're definitely not coming from Chat, or any apps we have installed. All of the logged in admins will hear the sound at the same time, so we don't think it's related to action taken on a ticket etc. 

Has anyone else experienced this? We've reached out to Zendesk's support team a few times on this but haven't been able to find the root source.

Hi Haydn, just to get some clarification:
- This only affects your Zendesk admins, not Zendesk agents or any other team members?
- When the pings happen, do all your affected admins hear it at once?
- Are your admins all remote from each other?
- What operating system(s) are they using?
- Have you been able to eliminate the possibility that these pings are related to some other app, browser tab, or the operating system itself?

Hi Dave, thanks for checking in. 
- Yes, it only affects Zendesk admins and not agents or any other team members. 
- Yes, all affected admins hear it at once. 
- Yes, we're all remote from each other. 
- The specific device setup varies as we have some folks on Windows 10 and others on Mac OS 11.5. The browsers vary also, but in most cases we're using Google Chrome. For those not using Google Chrome, they're on Firefox. All browsers & operating systems are kept up to date. 
- We've been able to identify that Zendesk specifically is the source of these pings, as the browser tab shows when audio has been played within that tab specifically. None of the apps we have installed in Zendesk generate audio notifications.
