I foresee the possibility of having a fair number of statuses that could end up being unwieldy in a flat list. It'd be nice if the status drop-down could be multi-level. In other words, the top level could show only the default statuses but allow you to drill down to the specific status you want. For example, I might have the following statuses:
- New
- Open
- Pending
- On-hold
- On-hold::Product Owner
- On-hold::Development
- On-hold::Third-Party Vendor
- Solved
In the above example, the initial status list would show Open, Pending, On-hold, and solved. When the user selects On-hold, they would get the options to choose Product Owner, Development, or Third-Party Vendor.
This would allow admins to provide granular statuses but still keep the status drop-down relatively uncluttered.
