Interest in user provisioning connector for Azure Active Directory?

Hi,

I work for Microsoft on the Azure Active Directory team, and am interested in hearing from anyone who would like to see automating user account provisioning supported from Azure Active Directory to Zendesk.

Azure Active Directory supports a number of different connectors that automate provisioning and de-provisioning of user accounts to various SaaS applications via their Web APIs. Single sign-on is presently supported between Azure AD and Zendesk, but there is no provisioning connector yet.

If you're interested in a provisioning connector for Zendesk, let me know!

Hi Aaron

As a zendesk partner I know there is a demand for this, so bring it on 😀

Any update on this?  Bit disappointing this integration isn't available, eliminates a large feature we assumed would work easily (grabbing customer details from Azure automatically on sign in/user provisioning)

Hi,

This feature is definitely coming! The first version is due to arrive this Fall. I will post again as soon as it is available publicly.

Any updates on this? Really hurts our roll out plans not being available.

Hey Rick -

Aaron works on the Azure side, not for Zendesk. But hopefully he'll pop back in and have an update for you!

Hi,

we are very interested in that feature.  Our organization uses zendesk and we have Azure Ad.  We do not have AAD premium.  We want SSO but we mainly want our Zendesk database to be filled and updated regularly and automatically so that our agents get the info about the user calling without having to update it manually...

thanks

Serge.

Good news, the Azure AD user provisioning connector for Zendesk is now publicly available for everyone. For documentation on how to get started, see: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/active-directory/active-directory-saas-zendesk-provisioning-tutorial

Thanks for letting everyone know, Aaron!

Hi Aaron,

It appears that the connector supports only Enterprise subscriptions. The issue seems to be with the way that custom roles are handled. I've managed a partial workaround by removing the mapping for the 'custom_roles' attribute - but now users are provisioned as end-users rather than their assigned role. Are there any plans to provide support for provisioning without requiring support for custom roles?

Cheers, Ben

Hello

Could you explain how you have removed mapping of custom_roles?

Thanks

We started using the Azure AD integration with Zendesk today and facing some problems.

We configured Azure AD to sync with our Zendesk sanbox as described here https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/active-directory/saas-apps/zendesk-provisioning-tutorial but our test user in AD was never created. The standard Zendesk user fields in Azure is created though so the connection works.

We have Azure SSO turned on

Any ideas?

Hey Kalle,

Since this documentation you attached was written by Microsoft it may be worth reaching out to them to see if there's something that went wrong with the configuration. They should hopefully be able to tell you what information was sent over to Zendesk as well regarding this test user.

If there's any information Microsoft needs from us please let us know and I can create a ticket on your behalf to troubleshoot further.

Thanks!
