This report was first created with a x-axis "Tickets created - YYYY-mm-dd" (custom attribute).
Then I updated the report and switch out a-axis to "Ticket created - Date" (built in attribute).
Now when I switch between edit and view mode, the view mode shows the old metric, the edit mode the new metric.
Actually I identified the root cause in my case.
It seems once you've inserted a report, if you then go to More options and refine and save the report again, the old version is somehow cached and being displayed.
I worked around this bug by removing the report from the dashboard, then adding it again. Then the up to date report definition is switched in.
Renamed this post from "Old date shows in report in view mode" to "Inserting a report into a dashboard then refine it with More options and you'll get the old report version in View mode".
Not sure if the root cause is the lack of "publish changes" button, that doesn't show up if you've alterered a report via "More options"?
