Include Ticket ID in URl from initial ticket

I have two buttons in an initial ticket that comes in that I can click.  I would like to include the ticket id as a query string in those links.  I have tried to include the ticket id but it shows only the placeholder text in the html, and not the actual ticket ID.

Example of a reply macro I have below.  It works fine, but it doesnt do the same thing when an initial ticket comes in with {{ticket.id}}.

Hi Michael,

Can you help me understand the buttons you mention? How are these being created for incoming tickets, and where (and who) would you be wanting to click these buttons? Thanks!

Yes I am sending an email to our support email address which in turn creates a ticket in Zendesk.  So I am creating the HTML.  I am wanting admins only to click these.  Sorry for the delay, never got a notification you commented.

Hi, thanks for your patience and for the clarification. Unfortunately, I don't think placeholders were ever built to be used in this way, so macros may be the way to go. Can you speak more to the underlying business workflow you're trying to achieve? Maybe there's another way to approach this. Thanks!
