We are really excited to launch an Early Access program for Lookup Relationship Fields starting 23rd May 2022. Our Support customers are open to register for Early access of this feature.

This being an Early Access Program, there are a few product limitations:

  • Related Lists - In case you are wondering, "I've associated a Property Manager to a Ticket with Lookup fields.. How do I get all the tickets associated with this property manager". For this EAP, you may be able to do this only with APIs. But we are working on getting that functionality in the Standard Zendesk UI pretty soon
  • Ticket Permissions - If a ticket is assigned as a Target in a lookup field and the user does not have permissions to view the ticket, the Lookup field will appear blank. The user will not be able to differentiate between a scenario where the field is empty and where the user does not have permissions to view the ticket.
  • Customer Facing forms (Guide) - The custom Lookup fields will not appear in the Customer Facing forms in Guide
  • Explore Compatibility - The custom lookup fields will not appear in the Explore data sets
  • Automation Compatibility - Custom lookup fields cannot be included in Automation related settings
  • Messaging, Chat and Mobile compatibility - Lookup fields cannot be used in these channels at this point

To register, please fill out this form: Lookup Fields - Early Access Registration Form

We cannot guarantee that everyone can join at this stage, but we’ll do our best to support as many as possible. We look forward to working with you on this exciting new feature!

Great News - We have also enabled the ability add an action on a Lookup field in Triggers !!

It appears that "Lookup Relationship Fields" cannot be used as a conditional ticket field either.

It also doesn't appear that you can bulk update the "Lookup Relationship Fields" either.

Thank you Michael.. I have already added conditional ticket to the backlog..
Do you get an error when you bulk update Lookup fields?

@ashwin11, no error the field just doesn't show up in the list of fields available for bulk update.
