@Andrea Rodriguez

I've deleted my previous post because what I've written wasn't exactly right. So here I go again :)

Currently, for technical reasons, third-party translation services like Smartling don't see the articles that are using Content Blocks. This is a temporary state and we plan to enable it again before Content Blocks will be generally accessible. After that, the translation flow you are describing should work as it does now.

For now, if you need to have a translated block I'd suggest creating a new content block in the translation language and place it in the desired articles.

Hi Katarzyna,

Thanks so much for following up. I'd done just that now and added the content blocks for each article per translation.

I do have another question: how do we delete existing content blocks? I have a colleague that made one but decided against it and now we cannot delete it. We'd hate to leave it there if it's not going to be used. We would also need this delete feature for when those third party translation services get published.

@Andrea Rodriguez,

It's not possible to delete a content block atm but we are planning to add this functionality before the end of the year. In fact, we are conducting a round of short interviews about it with our customers. If you by any chance are interested in participating please let me know and I'll contact you directly to schedule it.

Hi Katarzyna Karpinska,

I'd love to chat about our use case! Especially in light that those translations will eventually be translated, it would be nice to have a way to remove those and keep this area nice and tidy.

Hi there,

I have been trying for about two days now to edit a content block. Each time. I keep seeing the error:

How can I fix this? It seems that my colleague can still edit, but I am not able to. I have signed in/out and restarted my browser as well.

Also for feedback, editing blocks is very cumbersome when using bullet points. It doesn't allow you to edit the text via HTML or regular WYSIWYG without A LOT of manipulation.

Thanks :)

@Karissa Van Baulen this seems to be something that we need to investigate more. I will create a ticket and follow up with you there.

@Karissa Van Baulen Can you also tell us more about:

"...editing blocks is very cumbersome when using bullet points. It doesn't allow you to edit the text via HTML or regular WYSIWYG without A LOT of manipulation..."

I'd like to understand your experience.

Hello!
Looks like there is a problem with right-to-left languages.
Upon enabling the CB, text in RTL changes its position to the far right side.

@Maria Siritcyna Thank you for reporting this problem, I'll raise a ticket for to investigate it in more detail.

Hi, I am not able to create content blocks suddenly. I was able to before and am not now. Once I enable an article to have content blocks it switches over, I can add existing blocks, but the plus symbol does not pop up for me to create a new one, please help.

Hi @Kelsey Davis, have you maybe seen this thread? It has some explanation about the disappearance of (+)

@Katarzyna Karpinska

Any news on when this can be implemented?

Hi @Kalle Windefalk, yes! we are planning to release it in April.

It would be extremely useful if content blocks could support certain text within the block being dynamic (able to be changed for each article) and other text being fixed. This way, we could control the style and setup text for in-article notes, but allow the note body itself to be changed based on the context.

I'd like to get confirmation that scheduling an article to publish is not possible if it has a content block? Is this correct?
Use Case: We are about to unveil a new service in August and we're publicly announcing it on July 19th. We'd like to add a "blurb" to the appropriate articles and have them all publish at the same time. However, it doesn't seem to be possible to schedule them if I add a content block.

Thanks!

Hi @Andrea Rodriguez,

It is not possible at the moment to schedule an article that has CBs enabled on it. But we'll close this gap in the next week or two and the scheduling will work the same way as it works on non-CB articles.

Hi everyone, we are running open sessions with customers who are actively using content blocks and would be interested in having a 30min conversation with the Guide research team about your experience, limitations, and how you would like content blocks to develop further. If you are interested, book your time slot here

I'd love for each content block to also store any supported localizations you make for that block of text. In it's current form, if you have a support article in Zendesk with localized versions you need to make individual separate content blocks for every supported language. This means LOTS of additional content blocks. Am I missing something here?

Are there plans to allow for the creation of content blocks from the content blocks list screen under Manage Articles?

If there is an ARIA link contained within a CB, will that ARIA link be applied across all areas where the CB is applied?

I'd also like to echo the comment from Cailee here: https://support.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/360039122174/comments/4403627665306 Is there plans to allow for a instant-publish of articles after updating a block?
