Currently there are 3 headsets that are listed as tested with Zendesk talk. Have any more been tested since the release of the article. We are particularly interested in wireless units.

We have good experiences with Jabra Evolve 65, although lifetime seems a bit short. We've had horrible experience with the Logitech H540. We haven't tested the Logitech one from the article though.

In our case we went for wired instead of wireless and duo instead of mono. Mainly because there are about 30 agents having calls at a time. They are seated during their work and it can be quite noisy.

Hey Michael,

I've seen a lot of different Plantronics headsets and they seem to work fine too. Still happy with the Jabra Evolve 65. In my experience wireless was giving too much trouble, but that's in a concrete/metal building with 40~50 agents. So wired is better then.

I guess most decisions are something like this:
Price:
If the headsets will be used extensively does a higher price justify the extended lifetime? And what price fits your budget.
In my experience the price didn't really matter that much when it comes to lifetime. You will need a lot of repairs and replacements in a call center anyway. Some brands were awful though.

Wired/Wireless:
In a small team with a building with little interference it's worth a gamble, but I'd advise wired. Will also prevent your agents to go to the toilet and forget to go offline ;)
Wired with USB connection, don't go for those mini jack options.

Comfort:
Will depend on the person and I'd advise against several different brands/types within your company, but try to find one that your agents can wear for a full shift. As administrator or manager you might not wear the headset long enough to experience this yourself.
Don't be too picky either ;)

Sound quality:
Even the headsets with poor sound and mic are more than good enough for a phone call. I've seen some headsets with poor software. They adjust the sound or mute the mic dynamically, but instead of assistance, it's more like an annoyance.

Anyway, when it comes to a good quality phone call there are so many other factors that come into play. Like your internet connection, ISP and the other party's reception and carrier of course. Picking the right headset is probably just trial & error. Buy 3 different brands/models and test them. Think there are too many factors and preferences to give a general recommendation.

With kind regards,

Sebastiaan

Hi,

Can anyone recommend headset models with particularly 3.5mm jack (or usb if you have great success) - we need to purchase some and are keen to hear of some tried and tested ones. Our team is spread across 4 countries so ideally something I can source globally, but otherwise whatever you can recommend will be a huge help anyway!

Thanks

Hi Sebastiaan,

The article that you linked is no longer available.  Is there an updated list?  Also, specifically, we would like to know if you have a recommended headset with enhanced audio capabilities for the hearing impaired?

Thanks!

Hey Nate,

Looks like that article was outdated which is why the link no longer works. More information on what to consider when choosing a headset for Talk can be found here: Preparing for Zendesk Talk

I hope this helps!
