Having difficulty configuring the zendesk app in slack

I am trying to setup notifications of newly created Zendesk tickets to be sent to a slack channel.

I have followed the steps outlined here.

In the "Configuring the integration" section, after I click get started and then "Add Channel" nothing really happens. The drop-down from which to select a channel does not appear.

When I click on "Add Channel", the response I get is as below:

Hi Bilal,

Due to recent changes to the Slack platform, you cannot add the app to newly created private channels or channels converted from a public channel to a private channel. Can you confirm if the channel meets any of the two?
