Guide sidenav inconsistently loading

Hi,

Since we have a category in guide which is restricted to certain users sometimes on first login the sidenav does not appear at all.

This category is visble to users in a user segment which is populated with tags since there are too many users to include in segment directly.

This sidenav is part of lotus themes and lists all category sections and articles using dropdown.

We notice when navigating to unrestricted category with an authorized account sometimes on first login just the restricted category does not appear in sidenav which would indicate lack of permission to view restricted category.

Is there anything that we can include in hbs or script that would verify or refresh user permissions before loading this part of the article?
