Facebook Messages Causing Phone Issues Workaround

Currently, every Facebook Messages ticket we receive causes our agents to not be able to receive or make calls from Zendesk Talk. In our tickets with Zendesk, they said there is an outage causing this issue and are working to resolve it, even though it is not on status.zendesk.com. They also stated we should pursue an alternative to ensure coverage on phones.

What I am wondering is - What are other companies doing as a workaround to take Facebook Messages but also have Talk continue to work? We are going into the weekend and will have only 1 agent online at certain times of day and are looking for ideas.
