Error message on change password process is hidden by popup/ modal

The system to change password involves a popup/modal, which greys out the screen behind it.  The problem is that any error messages are part of that main screen, not the modal, so they get greyed out as well, and they are REALLY difficult to see. 

I have a screenshot that would be useful to show the issue, but there is no way to attach a screenshot to this form. 

The topic of this post is not "support Q&A", but there is no "other" option.
