In reading back through the various posts of suggestions and questions, I noticed several times that Zendesk has said they are planning to add more functionality for Content Blocks. Can we get an updated roadmap of the next group of feature expansions being worked on and a loose ETA on when they are expected to be available?
Content Block Roadmap Updates?
Hi @Reneé Lasswell, It's hard for me to talk about any longer-term roadmap, as the world is changing now faster than ever before, but I can confirm that in a near future we are planning to:
- provide a possibility to add custom classes in Content Blocks
- provide an option to delete a content block
- support creating content blocks with images
We will also look into adding an option to quickly publish the articles when a content block is updated.
Besides that, we have a long list of features that we'd like to add to Content Block next year to make it a truly powerful tool, but it's still too early to talk about it :)
Katarzyna, Thank you for this update. I do understand that timelines are difficult and plans will shift and change. :) I very much appreciate this update however as those are really good next efforts for this product. The only one I might ask about that appears missing from your list is a way to see/manage the content blocks outside of actually inserting them into an article. But perhaps that will be part of your solution for being able to delete them.

Yes, we realize the need for central management of content blocks but we need to do a bit more research on how to do it right.
Hello, I have asked on a different post but this one might be more suited - is there an ETA on images, iframes, tables to be supported in Content Blocks? This is currently stopping me moving everything over and being able to drop cross help centre search. Right now I am awkwardly stuck between as I can't disable the cross help centre search but now have duplicate articles in 2 help centres showing up twice because they share the content block and are on 2 different branded help centres...so it's a bit awkward and also keeping me from doing more and being able to add to the EAP discussion. So keen to get this going! Thanks
Hi @Kelsey Davis, I hear you and I know that the need of images in CBs is strong. It's high on our priority list but this change requires unwinding some pretty deep logic around article attachments along the way so it's going to take us a while longer than we want it to.
