Is it possible to implement click to dial functionlity?

(To have a control of showing or hiding phone icon near the contact phone number and handle the event of clicking on this icon from Custom Zendesk App)

Hi there!

If you're looking in a user's profile, if you click on their phone number you'll see a drop down that gives you a couple different options, including the option to call the customer.

This works if you have Zendesk Voice enabled. If you're using a different phone provider, I'm not certain whether it would work, or whether it would be possible to build a customization that would make it possible. I'm going to do a little more research on this for you and let you know what I find out!

Unfortunately, we currently do not have this feature available for the 3rd party telephone/CTI integrations.

The CTI solution Tenfold has a click to call feature. It works on any CRM, any spreadsheet, and any webpage opened in Chrome. We support a number of CRMs including Zendesk: https://www.tenfold.com/integrations/zendesk/

Hi everyone, is there any update about this? We are also interested on doing an integration with click to dial without using the Zendesk Talk if possible. Any ideas?

There are a couple different ways you can initiate a call in Talk that don't require manually dialing the number. You can read about them in our Talk documentation.
