Apply macro using text or keyboard shortcut

Is there a way to use text or keyboard shortcuts to apply macros? I realize you can type to search once clicking on the "Apply Macro" dropdown, but I'd like to know if there's a way to eliminate this step.

    Hi Mark

    There isn't any way to assign keyboard shortcuts to macros in Zendesk, you can however avoid using the mouse to click the macro box. Simply hit CTRL-ALT-M which will open the macro box and you can start to type for the macro you need. No need to move your hands away from the keyboard.
