Anunay

The Advanced Encryption EAP encrypts the following user fields for Zendesk Support, Guide and Talk in Production and Sandbox environments:

  • Name
  • Alias
  • Signature
  • Details
  • Notes

The Support features include the following areas of Zendesk:

  • End user management
  • Team member management
  • User data in the context of a ticket (Requester, CC, Followers, Assignee)
  • Group and organization memberships
  • User placeholder resolution in ticket comments and emails
  • User creation via single sign-on, web widget, and email
  • Ticket views
  • Support search
  • Triggers and automations (business rules)

All features in Guide and Talk are covered with the exception of @mentions in Guide which will be disabled if encryption is enabled.

Important notes:

  • This release supports backfilling, encrypting newly created and existing users in your Zendesk instance.

Key rotation and revocation are not supported in this EAP release. These features will be launched in a future  release. Please note that if you rotate or revoke the keys in this release, you might lose your encrypted data in the sandbox forever.

This article mentioned backfill of encryption of data in a future release. Is there any update/tentative date on this? Also, any tentative date on a GA release? Thanks!

Hi @krista11,

Our GA target is H2 2024, when all customers will be able to enable Advanced Encryption in production.
