Zendesk Guide Access & SSO

Hi All, 

We use tags to create customer segments for access to Zendesk Guide (Help Center). However, our SSO payload includes tags that remove existing tags on a user's profile, thus preventing Help Center access. 

How do other folks handle this? 

  • Do you include tags in your SSO payloads? 
  • Is there a different way we could segment Help Center access?

Hi Afton,

Including tags in the SSO payload can help you segment users within Zendesk Support. Other approaches to pushing tags into Zendesk might also be possible, depending on the user volume.

 

If you push tags through SSO payloads, please ensure the user session is destroyed in Zendesk when a user logs out or renewed when their session is refreshed on your site. Failing to do this will result in outdated segment data being retained as tags in Zendesk.
