submit a request - best practice

I want to create a landing page using the forms features on zendesk, but I'm unable to activate my help center yet. I just want the users to reach out to our support email using the forms, which they have a variety of options to choose from, and they can focus us (the support agents) on their main issue. 
Should I use the "submit a request" for it? And leave our help center "under maintenance," or is there another way for it?

Yes, you need to use the submit a request page for that and make your help center active so that users can get the submit a request page.

What you can do is add the code for redirection if someone opens your help center homepage it will redirect to the "Submit a Request" page.
