Hi guys!
Our customers don't have an easy way to find our Gather/Community, but they do access our Guide/KB. Therefore, we would like to create a nice shortcut in Gather/Community, that would take our customers directly to our Gather/Community.
I thought about creating a Category in Guide, and customize the button so would take them to Gather, but I'm not sure if that's the best way.
Any help would be appreciated!

Yes, it's possible to achieve, you just need to add a block on homepage that will redirect to Gather when someone click on it.
You can do by your own it requires some coding knowledge.
