Changing the User of a post

Hello all!

My company is using Zendesk Guide. Our Admin user for Guide posts under the name of "Community Admin." But she also has her own end user account, used for regular comments and posts addressing our users. Recently, it has been decided to limit responses from our 'Community Admin' in order to encourage discussions using our personal end user accounts.

Is there a way to change the user account of a post? The hope is to change some of the comments made by 'Community Admin' to the personal end user account.

Any help would be much appreciated!

Hey Mike,

As far as I know there's no way to change the author of a post/comment. You'd need to essentially recreate the post with your end-user profile instead.

Let me know if there's anything else I can assist with!

Thanks for the quick response Brett, and for the clarification.

As a second option I had been considering, would it be possible to create a new account and transfer ownership or admin rights to this new account? I would then be able to change the name for previous posts made as 'Community Admin' to an end-user profile. I could then just merge the two end-user profiles.

Again, thanks for the help!

Hey Mike,

I believe that would work. You would just change the name of the author account and then downgrade that author to an end-user.

Hope that helps!
