Ability to publish a hidden article

It would be great to have a feature where you could publish an article in Help Center, but hidden, so only a direct link works to access it.

The only way to show an article to a specific group of users is to use user segments. But this is not an option for us, because we`re in a fast moving market with different users each day. It would be helpful to get this feature, so that nobody have to use user segments specific for this 'issue'.

@Niels Norg, you can hide that specific article by checking the article ID using the condition and use only a direct link for your users. I hope,  it could help.

Thanks

Thanks for your quick response @Ifra Saqlain. But I don`t really understand what you mean. Can you explain in more detail what you mean?
Cause I can find the article ID, but the only way for me to make an article visible for a specific group end-users is to use user segments. But as I`ve stated, this is not an option for us.

@ifra

I also am interested in a bit further explanation by what you mean here.

Also - I'm curious if we can have the hidden article still be used in AnswerBot and have those direct links work? In other words, I don't want someone public to stumble onto our Guide and be able to search all of our articles, but if someone is writing in, then I want to be able to show them relevant articles (either via AnswerBot or via direct reply from agent) and let them view it.

@niels12

Actually, it looks like this might be the solution that Ifra is referring to (although it's more complex than I personally want to get into):

Yes, I was talking about this idea but as you said every day you have new customers, so It won't work in this case :)

Thanks

Hi @ifra 👋

I'm looking to hide some Help Center articles, but for a fixed group of people. The issue though is that we don't currently track signed-in users on our Help Center.

Based on this information, could I use the workaround you provided by checking the article ID using the condition? Or is there a workaround for hiding Help Center articles with my use case?

Thank you!

Hello,

I am also interested in hiding a published article. We use an agency to translate articles but can only request translations for a published and visible article (visible to everyone). Is there a possibility to publish with full visibility and then hide after without changing visibility? apologies if I have missed this in the thread.

Hi Jillian Coury,

Yes, you can hide the article without changing the visibility. You can use custom JS code or templating code on article page.
