After a few years, I am going to "unfollow" the article because obviously Zendesk is not taking action on this.  Have fun recreating articles instead of duplicate/copy!!!!

Has this been done? It still says planned expected plan to release was before the end of 2021

Hi Sara,

See Karazyna's comment from May 3rd of this year above:

This feature is not yet available, we plan to start development on it later this year.

This was originally posted in 2015. A Zendesk comment in 2021 mentioned something coming in 2022.

It's August 2022. Any progress on being able to copy an article?

Hello! Any update on the feature to be able to to publish one article in multiple sections? I desperately need this for my help center.

Hi Breanne -

Article multiplacement can be found in the "Planned" tab in our Help Center (Guide) roadmap -- if you click through to it there's a place for you to leave feedback for our product team.

Thanks @dave12 - I have submitted my feedback.

This thread started in 2017, we almost hitting 2023.

I have now decided to no longer wait but instead recreate our Main Brand's Guide for all the sub-brands... This is going to be tedious work and annoying for maintenance because you lack the single source of truth.

We have 13 brands and 120+ articles, hopefully I can minimize this to 5 or 6 brands.

I have delayed this as much as I could but we are at the point that our customers are suffering for the lack of progress we have made in this regard. The problem is not the guide itself but the fact that we need a separate brand for each Bot (each in their own language) to use the articles (for both recommendation by the answer bot as for usage in the flow builder) .

Also, thinking from a customers perspective, we are going to have to duplicate articles within the same brand to be able to use across different categories and sections. This will also screw with the recommended articles we automatically include in our "ticket received" trigger.

As you can see, this problem is not just limited to slight inconvenience but hitting our customers experience directly.

I think it would be fair to give us an update to why so little has been done this far (seemingly). Perhaps you are planning on a all new Guide? Which I would understand. Or have all the developers been moved to the new Bot (I really like the pace of releases for that btw). If that is the case, please move this issue to that team because it is a part of the same functionality.

anyway... I took some time here to write this, I hope you will do the same with the answer and give your customers some perspective.

Kind regards

Tim, you can speed up the process of duplicating articles from one brand to another by using the Help Center Manager app. It allows you to copy between brands: articles, sections, categories or even the content of an entire help center.

It's not free, but quite affordable and offer other benefits as well such as: Link checking, Find and Replace or Analytics.

@katarzyna13: hi. More than 6 months ago, you, as a Zendesk Product Manager, informed us this feature is planned to be implemented this year (2022). The end of this year is in 12 days. I hope it is implemented next week maximum to respect your commitments.  Thanks to confirm us the action + the date of the deployment on production. Reminder: the original topic has been created ... early 2015. Regards,

I have to wholeheartedly agree with @olivier12 on this. I'm not even in the role that requires this job any more, however I eagerly watch this thread to see if Zendesk will fulfil a LONG OVERDUE feature request that, surely cannot be too complex?

I'll continue to follow. I wonder if I'll get another job again before Zendesk deliver?

Katarzyna13

Hi again :)

Architecturally, article multiplacement is a big and hairy undertaking for me and my teams. We spent a good part of last year on backend changes that will enable it and we hope to see the first customer-facing changes in the first half of this year.

If you go to the planned tab in Help Center roadmap you'll see that Article Multiplacement swimlane has now some new features. We are hoping to work on them (and others) throughout this year and provide you with a good multiplacement experience in the end.

The delivery of one of these features - reconstructing article settings will start soon, the others will have to go through design and customer validation stages. I'd love ou to hear your feedback and opinions on them so please let me know if you'd be interested in participating in our research.

That is good news.

Thanks for the update.

@katarzyna13

Hi Katarzyna!

If you'll have me, I'd love to participate in the research. I have a lot of feelings about Guide and its collaboration tools.

  • January 19, 2023

Being able to duplicate help centre content to sub-brand help centres would be incredibly helpful...

  • January 19, 2023

Hi Katarzyna Karpinska -

I have been following this request for years (literally).  How did this go from the ability to COPY or DUPLICATE an article (the subject of this thread) to something you are calling "Article Multiplacement"?

These are two different use cases.  I don't see the ability to COPY/DUPLICATE an article on your roadmap - not under considering, not under planning.

So I an just taking a wild guess here that it is not happening.

Katarzyna13

Hi @joe31,

We've done extensive research in this area in the last few years and it shows that most of our customers need a way to create one article and place it in different sections and brands so that when they need to update it those updates are visible in all the placements. This scenario contains some (but not all) needs for copy/pasting. Based on this research we've decided to focus on a feature that is for now called Article Multiplacement.

@katarzyna13

Is there any update on the Multi Article Placement feature, enabling to populate content across multiple brands?

Your previous link to the Help Center Roadmap doesn´t work anymore.

Any update would be much appreciated!

Thank you, Andreas

Katarzyna13

@andreas35,

I apologize for the link to the roadmap not working, I hope to create a new roadmap soon and I'll make sure that it's shared.

When it comes to multiplacement, we've been working on the backend for a while now and we've recently conducted a study with some of our customers on the prototype of the feature. We hope to see some first changes in the UI at the end of this year.

Wow, over 8 years of asking for this feature, and it still hasn't been delivered (nor something similar/alernative that would tackle the issue of having to duplicate everything manually). Makes me wonder if asking for a feature is relevant at all.
Especially when it's something as simple as duplicating an article, every other knowledge base competitor has it.

Is there any update on this roadmap? We're close to the end of the year and there is still no update or any rollout plan.

Katarzyna13

Hi All,

I'd like to give you a quick update on the progress of this feature. Regrettably, our development pace hasn't been as swift as we initially planned, and we're unable to roll it out within this year as planned. We are, however, committed to making it happen and are actively working on it. Our current aim is to have the first deliveries to share with you next quarter. We appreciate your patience and understanding during this time.

Can't wait for this feature!

Some updates?

  • March 6, 2024

+1 need this and/or ability to apply a text template to the article editor to enable a consistent structure of specific article types.
