If you have automated tasks triggered when you move into a deal stage (ex: stage 1 - set up 3 tasks for client follow up). But you move on to next stage before tasks complete (ex: reached client after task 1 and sold product then moved to stage 2), the remaining 2 tasks stay open which piles up quickly and is no longer required thereby clogging up your processes.
