Industry Standard Knowledge View ticket deflection

Historically, I have used a 4 to 1 ratio of views in my knowledge base to assume 4 views is equivalent to 1 support ticket not being created  by a customer (4 to 1 deflection rate).   Is this common in the industry?   I want to be very conservative and I would be interested in your feedback.
