Don't allow me to select two conflicting dates

Currently, if you select, for instance, a month from "Ticket Created At - Month", but select something else, like "this year" in the date picker, the system will default to using the checkbox, even if the other action was done later. BOTH values are saved, making it even more of a headache to troubleshoot. It's even more confusing when the selected checkbox isn't immediately visible and requires scrolling.  In the example below, every time I open this date range, it shows "This year" is selected, but it's actually only applying "June" to the left:
