Dear Zendesk and Community, 

 

I searched the whole Admin Help Center several times by now, and shockingly have not found anything on this topic? 

 

We really need a way to export conversation transcripts from the bot insights. Or at the very least a report of the initial visitor requests, as in the first text entries, in bot conversations for the past 90 days.

 

It is highly inconvenient that we can only see the conversation insights for the past thirty days manually in amdin center, and there is no way to export that in a report? Did I miss an important update and overseeing something? If anyone knows how to do this, I would greatly appreciate any advice here. IF this is indeed still not possible, dear Zendesk Team, please let us know when we can expect a feature like this to be released. I am pretty sure everyone that is using the native Zendesk Messaging Bot would need this.

You’re right, Yvonne.

Zendesk doesn’t currently provide a native export for bot conversation transcripts or even the “first visitor message” reports you’re describing.

 

The Bot Insights reporting UI is limited to 30 days, and as of today there isn’t an official setting to extend or export that data 

If you need 90-day coverage or full transcript access, the only reliable workaround is to pull the raw conversation events via the Sunshine Conversations API or the Messaging API

 

That gives you the visitor’s initial request and subsequent exchanges, which you can then store in your own database or BI tool for long-term reporting (https://developer.zendesk.com/documentation/zendesk-web-widget-sdks/messaging_private_attachments/)

 

Some teams set up scheduled jobs that fetch conversations daily so they never hit the 30-day wall.

I agree this is a gap, many teams want this for QA, training, or product feedback. If it fits your use case, I’d suggest also logging a feature request in the Feedback section so the product team can weigh demand. In the meantime, APIs or middleeware are the practical way to capture and export transcripts beyond the 30-day horizon.

Currently, Zendesk Bot Insights only shows conversation data for the past 30 days and does not support exporting full conversation transcripts or initial visitor request reports covering 90 days. While this feature isn’t available out-of-the-box, you might consider using Zendesk’s APIs or integrating with external reporting tools as a workaround. We’ve shared your feedback with our product team, though there’s no timeline yet for when such export capabilities might be added.
