Can Explore be used to export to regularly export Zendesk Support data (.csv / xls)?

My idea is to build a query and place the columns that I need, plus a filter for the date.

Is there an inconvenience in doing so?

Hi Pedro -

You can schedule the delivery of Explore dashboards in Excel, CSV, PDF, or image format, but that's only going to include what's in the dashboard, not full Zendesk data: Scheduling dashboard deliveries

For a more complete periodic export of what's changed in Zendesk, you'll want to look into the Incremental Export API endpoints

The data in the data export option also doesn't include full zendesk data...so not sure what you mean

Hi Pedro, can we step back and talk about what you're trying to accomplish via data export? What data are you wanting to be included, and what do you want to do with it once it's exported?

1. Export data to excel

2. Be able to select the data that I want to export. The fields already included + all that you can get via the API. The current model is too "hardcoded", you don't have the choice to select the fields that you want, you only get the predefined set, nothing more, nothing less.

3. Build metrics, pivot tables, and manipulate data the way I want or need.

Actually, I am already doing that...

I believe this is pretty clear, but please let me know If you didn't understood.

Pedro Reis - this is also one of our issue as well, all data were predefined.

Indeed. It would be a nice improvement to be able to have more fields than the current set, and to be able to select which ones can be exported.

@Dave Dyson Can you please transmit this to the product team?

@Pedro Reis and @Jahn Jerenz Bronilla -

Thanks again – if I can attempt to reflect: you'd like to use Explore's query functionality to build ticket-level reports, presumably in table format, with selected ticket data available in columns, but the current Explore dataset doesn't offer all the fields you want to include. You'd prefer to use Explore over the API since that allows you to select the columns you want to include, unlike the API which includes everything. Is that correct?

I think it might be best for one of you to create a post in our Feedback on Explore topic. That's where our product team looks for customer feedback on Explore, and posting there will allow other users to add their support or comments to your request. I'd highly recommend checking out Product feedback Code of Conduct & how to write an effective feedback post, especially the section on details and examples. The more specific you are about the nature of the challenge you're facing, the better our product team will understand your needs. Thanks!

It's not quite that. This is about an improvement on the current data export functionality (Manage > Reports), so it can more flexible and complete, as described above.
