looking for a way to automate the update of the timezone field of a user profile based on his browser setting or IP etc..
Why is something like this not already part of zendesk?
How do others set the time zones of the user profiles?

I have the same question. How do I mass update or automate the time zone for user profiles in Zendesk?
I don't know of an automated way. I'm sure there's an app someone can create. But in the absence of that, what we've been doing is we added a custom timezone field to the form customers fill out when filing a ticket. Based on what they choose, we have a trigger for each Timezone that targets a we hook and it updates the user profile. If something like that would work and you're not sure how, let me know and I can write up a User Tip.

Personally, all my customers have my time zone in their profile. Is that normal?
I wish I could automatically update/populate their time zones in batch based on their last IP address?
As part of the SSO that we use for Zendesk (via our own SSO), we include the users iana time zone in the JWT but Zendesk doesn't read or store from that field. I really don't want another custom field and with customers in over 150 countries but they all show as in the company-set time zone (mountain time)!!
