AAD provisioning of Managers to a custom User field

Hi 

I managed to make a provisioning og managers from AAD to a custom user field. 

BUT the manger is shown as their Azure ID, not name or email. 

 

Is there anybody that could help me sort this ?

Hello Henrik Breinballe Hansen,

 

Thank you for your post, hope things are well on your end!

 

Unfortunately, the custom configuration of fields mapping for auto-provisioning between Azure and Zendesk won't fall within our realm of support. 

 

However, the same way you were able to map this ID value to this Custom Field, you should be able to retrieve any other property/attribute from your User directory such as : Name / Email and pass them in.

 

As shown in Azure documentation : Configure automatic user provisioning for Zendesk in Microsoft Entra ID

You can establish a mapping between your fields in Zendesk / Azure

 

Hence, I would suggest mapping your user Name or Email to the targeted Custom User field in Zendesk.

Hi Henrik, 

 

We have the same issue. I believe it's because what is being passed in Entra is the linked field, not a string to maintain the team hierarchy. You'll notice this if you hover over the manager's name in Entra user information and the link will display the user/object ID:

I have yet to find a workaround other than creating a lookup field. But that has a lot of manual intervention where you search for the string (it does produce the user's name):

Then you can attach it to the lookup field:

We've only used it for our agents/admins for workflow processes. If there was a way to automatically do this search and link feature in Zendesk, that would be ideal so we can have this information available for all staff.
